Portland, Ore. —
In a cost-cutting move, Newport Layton Home Fashions announced last week it has shut down its offices in Minneapolis.
As a result, longtime design team and couple George and Marcella Whyte will no longer be with the company.
The Whytes have worked together for Newport Layton for more than nine years, designing, sourcing and marketing the company’s bedding division.
In their place, head designer of decorative pillows Belinda Ballash and head designer of bath coordinates and table linens Richard Tamblyn will collaborate to also design, source and market Newport Layton’s bedding programs.
“George and Marcella are two wonderful and talented individuals who have contributed a great deal to our company and the home fashions industry,” said Larry Layton, ceo. “We regret this action and we wish them nothing but the best as they leave our firm to seek new challenges.“
We would love your feedback!
