Shaw Participates in 2010 HGTV Green Home Giveaway

For the third consecutive year, Shaw will be the exclusive flooring provider and sponsor for the HGTV Green Home Giveaway.
For the upcoming event, which is set for spring 2010, HGTV will build its third annual "green" home in The Pinehills — a master-planned community in Plymouth, Mass.
The 2010 HGTV Green Home, to be located eight miles north of Cape Cod, will be a custom-built, shingle-style cottage with approximately 2,100 square feet of living space. It will feature construction and design elements that contribute to an energy efficient, cleaner and healthier living environment.
As it has since HGTV started the giveaway project three years ago, Shaw will provide all the flooring for the new home. The company will use its recyclable Shaw "Anso" nylon carpet and eco-friendly "Epic" hard-wood flooring products in the home.
Shaw said its participation in projects like the HGTV Green Home is reflective of the company's "commitment to sustainability leadership" through the Shaw "Green Edge" — a company-wide business platform based on sustainability through innovation. Key to the company's strategy is its Evergreen Nylon Recycling Facility. To date, Shaw has recycled more than 244 million pounds of nylon carpet.
Viewers can enter for a chance to win the HGTV Green Home Giveaway grand prize package during the entry period from April 16 to June 4, 2010.
Starting next April, viewers can visit HGTV.com for a virtual tour of the home or they can watch a televised tour during the HGTV Green Home 2010 special at 8 p.m. ET on April 18.
