New York —
Surtex kicked off Sunday, May 17, with 400 exhibitors displaying a broad array of artwork and designs for textiles and other products at the Jacob K. Javitz Convention Center here. The show runs through May 19.
Among the new introductions:
-
Corona, Calif.-based T.S.B. & Company, which has forged 16 new licensing partnerships in the past two quarters for a new total roster of 40 licenses;
-
Artist Laura Kelly, owner of Apex, N.C.-based Laura Kelly Designs & Licensing, who is launching her new collections, Me and My Peeps and Initially Framed;
-
San Francisco-based SKM Portfolio artist Deborah Melmon, who is showcasing her "Hoot Owl" collection with Design Design Inc.;
-
Artist and designer Kate McRostie, who is debuting her Country Chic and La Vie de Boheme collections;
-
MSM will be presenting the work of two new artists. The artwork of Pamela Luer emphasizes natural themes and colors. Works by Jeanne Roberts tend toward vibrant watercolors and gouache, many with intricate borders and backgrounds.
-
Lafayette, Calif.-based Dena Designs, which is launching a new "uplifting" program of prints entitled "Happi by Dena."
Surtex is produced and managed by GLM, a dmg world media business. On the first floor of the Javitz center this year, the event is concurrent and co-located with the National Stationery Show, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair and The Supply Side.
We would love your feedback!
