Capel Hires Watras as Director of Merchandising

Capel Rugs has promoted Tami Watras to the newly created post of director of merchandising, responsible for the company’s strategy and execution of merchandise selection, product development and procurement.

She reports to John Magee, president and ceo. Her direct reports will include Norm Sweeters, managing director of imports, and Lou Webster, director of design and product development.

Watras joined Capel in 2006 as a merchandise manager and most recently served as the general manager of the retail division.

Prior to joining the company, she held positions in merchandising, product development and sourcing for Ethan Allen, Amy Coe, and Lillian August Designs.
